“The Family: A Proclamation to the World” was first read by President Gordon B. Hinckley in 1995.  It states the Church’s beliefs of family and the roles of husbands, fathers, wives, and mothers.

Memorizing this proclamation is a wonderful value experience.  It works well under any value, but I think especially Divine Nature.  As you memorize, read, and study this proclamation you will gain a testimony of the divinity and importance of families.

Discuss what you learn with their parents or leaders.  Ask them to memorize it with you.  How do they feel about the proclamation?  How can you apply what you learn in your present family?  How can you apply it to your future family life? How can memorizing the proclamation strengthen and unify your family?

Memorise The Family a Proclamation to the World Value Project Week 1 from Pond's Guide to Personal Progress

I split the proclamation into ten weeks and created worksheets for each one to help with memorizing.  Each week you will read and think about the assigned passage, memorize it, work on a value experience to apply it into your life, and reflect what you learned.

The value experiences are

Divine Nature #3

Individual Worth #4

Faith #6

Virtue #1

Choice and Accountability #6

Faith #2

Good Works #2

Good Works #5

Individual Worth #3

and Integrity #7.

If you already completed these values experiences find other values experiences to use.

Good luck and enjoy!
